Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer, and artist who was a huge contributor to the Arts and Crafts (Craftsman) movement. The Charles Rennie Mackintosh style was known for its long flowing lines, patterns and geometric shapes. He often used symbols and floral motifs, especially the swirling rose. Mackintosh also used stained glass in much of his work. You will find many Charles Rennie Mackintosh stained glass designs such as the four squares or his rose motif. The rose motif, sometimes called the Glasgow Rose, can be found in stained glass all over the world.

The Rennie Rose style is so beloved there are even paint colors named after it. In Scotland, the Arts and Crafts Movement has become synonymous with Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The Willow font used to create this beautiful sign was inspired by and created based on a sign for the Willow Tea Room, one of three tea rooms in Glasgow that were designed by Mackintosh.
